As part of cooperation with a Czech manufacturer of construction waste recycling equipment, we designed and delivered a hydraulic system, pre-installed control software and electronic components, including a radio remote control, for a new model of mobile jaw crusher.
The CH470 manufactured by RESTA is a single-toggle mobile jaw crusher designed for processing construction waste and natural aggregates up to 150 MPa and maximum piece size of 400 x 300 mm.
Our task in the machine development process was to design both powerful and effective hydraulic system for driving the crawler chassis and the machine's working functions. At the same time, together with the manufacturer, we participated in programming the tailored control software and supplied most of the electronic components.
Smart control of working hydraulics
The core element of the open hydraulic circuit is a powerful Danfoss 45 Frame J series hydraulic pump with a displacement of 51 cm3/rev with electronic proportional control including position, pressure and speed sensors serving as feedback for the electronic circuit control. The pump is connected to a proportional PVG 32/16 valve which provides a smooth and reliable control of the entire system.
In addition to these central components, several orbital and gear hydraulic motors from the same manufacturer also operate in the system, driving various work functions. We have also integrated an axial piston hydraulic motor from the manufacturer PWG as a drive for the crushing equipment.
When designing the system, one of the most challenging tasks was to meet the manufacturer’s request to use a combustion engine with a relatively low power of 16 kW as the main drive. Thanks to the careful optimization of all hydraulic parts and the use of the Danfoss pump with innovative ETL (Electronic Torque Limit) technology, we managed to meet the customer’s requirements.
The ETL function enables intelligent control of power transmission and is able to dose the power from a smaller combustion engine to the hydraulic circuit in such a way that it is maximally efficient, sufficiently powerful and stable at the same time.
Easy and safe control
For comfortable, precise and safe control of the machine, we have supplied a set of electronic components within the control system, including several microcontrollers, sensors and a durable color display. The display allows the operator to adjust the size limitation of the processed material, which is controlled by an ultrasonic sensor.
The operator controls the propel and all working functions of the crusher using a radio remote control that we have configured and programmed specifically for this machine. This makes the machine operation as easy and safe as possible.
